The BOOST 180 is a 28-pole BLDC motor (brushless out-runner). It was designed at Pichler based on the latest findings and impresses with the highest quality, peak performance, and robustness. What many do not know: PICHLER was one of the pioneers in the German market in the early 2000s, fully supporting the out-runner concept and offering corresponding motors in their range. The open design is groundbreaking, as the airflow from the propeller also optimally cools the motor internally. Only a cool-running motor delivers consistently high performance. The practical, integrated propeller mount is precisely tuned to the propeller sizes used with motors of this scale. No additional adapters, such as those that require excessive drilling of the propellers and thus weaken them, are necessary. A stable, machined 4-point mounting ring allows for easy installation in the model. Additionally, a large ball bearing supports the casing of the motor bell in the rear area (bell support bearing) securely, ensuring absolute concentricity and preventing defects at the shaft bearings.
The BOOST 180 motor is a powerful replacement for gasoline engines with a displacement of approximately 45-55cc. A specially developed gearbox, the BMG-80, is also available for this motor. This allows the use of large propellers over 25 inches.
