Together with the Swiss world champion pilot Daniel Aeberli, FMS developed the first high performance foam glider in the world - the FMS ASW-17.
The new ASW-17 from FMS with a wingspan of 2.50 meters convinces with numerous innovative new solutions, an enormous stability at wildest aerobatic manoeuvres and high G-forces and a well thought-out aluminium/carbon fibre/foam construction.
The wing connectors made of CNC-milled aluminium are simply screwed into the fuselage. The wings as well as the horizontal and vertical tailplane are designed with a "Quick-Release" system, whereby the wings and tailplane are simply "snapped in", so that the model is completely assembled or disassembled in a few seconds.
Powerful propulsion is provided by a 750KV brushless motor in combination with a 40A flight controller and an efficient 13.5x6" folding propeller. Both the drive and the 6 MG servos are fully installed in the model, which means that the assembly of the model is limited to putting together the fuselage, tail units and wings and inserting the battery and receiver.
