Almost finished fast glider made of resistant EPO foam in "Hotliner" style for experienced pilots, allowing you to choose a wingspan of 1500 mm (for acrobatics or slope flying) or 2100 mm (for thermal flying) thanks to the removable wing center. The Lightning 2100, made from nearly unbreakable extruded polyolefin foam (EPO), delights anyone looking for a truly fast and agile motor glider in "Hotliner" style, while also wanting a faster glider with a lower wing loading to fly in good thermals. The secret of the Lightning 2100 is its three-part wing. When using all three wing parts, you have a good speedy 2-meter glider. When using only the outer part of the wing, you have a hotliner with a wingspan of 1500 mm. Thanks to the model reinforced with carbon strips and supports, the Lightning 2100 provides a significant adrenaline rush when flying at speed and on the slope. Moreover, the model retains the main advantage of EPO models – it is easy to repair and, thanks to the removable two-/three-part wing and removable horizontal stabilizer, is very space-saving, allowing you to easily pack it for a mountain hike or vacation without having to leave your wife or child at home due to lack of space.
The sleek fuselage made of EPO foam with glued composite reinforcements comes with the mounted brushless out-runner motor C2415-1150KV, a 10x7" folding propeller, a 40A brushless controller, and servos for the control surfaces. In the front part of the fuselage, under the removable canopy, there is a battery compartment. For the Lightning 2100, you will need LiPo 3-cell packs of 2200 mAh with a discharge rate of at least 25C. The EPO horizontal stabilizer is removable for easy transport and storage. The wing, with a fast profile made of EPO foam, reinforced with three carbon supports, is either three-part or two-part and connected by a carbon connector. The wing is secured to the fuselage with two screws. The ailerons are controlled by two servos mounted in the wing. Before connecting the linkages, we recommend moving all control surfaces up and down or left and right through careful repeated tilting. The control surfaces include ailerons, vertical stabilizer, horizontal stabilizer, and motor speed.
You will need at least a 4-channel RC set to control the model. In this case, both aileron servos are connected to one channel via a Y-cable (not included in the kit). It is ideal to have at least a 5-channel computer RC set that allows for independent control of the aileron servos. In this case, you can adjust the differential aileron throws. Initially, we recommend 50% – meaning the aileron throw down is half as large as the throw up. Especially for easier landings on the slope, it is advantageous to mix the ailerons as aerodynamic brakes (tilting them upwards).
The Lightning 2100 is designed for intermediate modelers who already master the control of faster models with controllable ailerons – for example, as their third or fourth model. With large throws set, all experienced pilots will fly perfectly with the model, appreciating its speed and agility.
