The Fournier RF-4D model, which has been popular for many years, is now equipped with ribbed wings. The wings are constructed with precisely laser-cut components on the well-known aero-naut slipway, which enables a fast and distortion-free construction. Sophisticated auxiliary templates are used to achieve an accurate and rapid construction result. The wings are covered with a maple veneer, which has also already been cut to size and glued with a special textile fibre, in order to achieve problem-free processing and high load-bearing capacity. The material known as A-Tex is a product manufactured by aero-naut itself and used in many aero-naut kits.
The typical aero-naut construction manual in 3D style allows the assembly step by step and supports the model builder with 3D drawings and detailed text. This makes assembly easy. The model was designed on a scale of 1:4, so that retractable landing gear and airbrakes could also be installed. Moderate aerobatics are possible with the Fournier. With feeling flown Loopings, effective Turns, roles or similar are no problem. Long approaches can be precisely divided with the help of the airbrakes. The wing is made of two parts and has an 18 mm duraluminium tube; the tailplane is mounted on carbon tubes and firmly glued to the fuselage. Access to the RC equipment is provided by a large recess in the bottom of the fuselage. The wing lock can also be reached here. The GRP fuselage is of the usual high quality of aero-naut and is equipped with mouldings and all bushings for wings and tailplane. The horizontally split, two-part GRP engine hood already has guides for centring both parts. The cockpit equipment is based on the original, these parts are made of ABS. The
Building instructions give further tips on how to design the interior (e.g. upholstery). The spring-loaded retractable undercarriage with hollow rubber tyres was specially developed for this model. The parts made of duraluminium or steel are precisely water jet cut, brazed and powder coated. The landing gear retracts into an ABS fender built into the fuselage. The pneumatic EZFW control with an 18 mm diameter compressed air cylinder (bore) is single-acting. This is an important contribution to safety, as the chassis is automatically extended in the event of a pressure loss in the system! Included in the delivery is an adjustable pressure reducer with which the time lapse of the retraction or extension "scale" can be adjusted. The control valve is also single-acting, actuated by pressure from a cam disk (cam) mounted on the (mini) servo, for example, and extended by a spiral spring. Only a hand pump with manometer (e.g. from Robart) is not included.
The model kit contains:
Detailed 3D building instructions, GRP fuselage and engine hood, wing kit made of lasered wooden parts, airbrakes, spinners, retractable landing gear and support wheels, tail, dummies for exhaust and filling supports, canopy, ABS parts, CNC milled parts made of plywood and GRP, punched parts, duraluminium pipe, GRP pipe (guide for plugging), wing locking, small parts kit. The construction of the wings is simplified by the well-known aero-naut Helling from Depron without distortion.
Over the past 30 years, the company Aeronaut has been distributed from Modellbau Lindinger due to high quality products and services. The name "Aeronaut", based from the Greek Symbol for air and water, was chosen for the company in the 1970's as they stepped into the RC industry. Aeronaut is well known for self-designed and manufactured products, for example, the CAMCarbon Folding Propeller.
