The Jodel D.9 BéBé is a single-seater sports aircraft designed by French designers Edouard Joly and Jean Delemontez. Already in 1947 they started the development and flew the first prototype with the identification F-WEPF in January 1948, motorized with a two-cylinder boxer engine with 18 kW power. From 1952, the aircraft was also replicated in Germany by amateur aircraft manufacturers, but was not certified until 1958. Several thousand copies were produced worldwide in amateur construction and are still flown today.
The model in scale 1:3 was constructed by Philipp Gardemin. The aim was to produce this popular aircraft type in a simple and robust design as an everyday, sports and towing model, in an impressive size and yet easily transportable. The middle part of the wing is made of one piece (approx. 1.5 m), the ears are plugged in. The long and damped chassis legs are easily removable so that they do not get in the way during transport. The tailplane is also screwed and even the rudder can be removed in a few easy steps.
The Large model in wood construction impresses with its problem-free yet manoeuvrable flight characteristics and a great realistic flight image. It thus allows an easy entry into the scene of prototypical large models. The model can be motorized with motors from approx. 20 ccm or electric drives from 8s-LiPo or LIon. There are no limits to the individual expansion of the model beyond the scope of the kit, corresponding models can be easily found in an Internet search.
Over the past 30 years, the company Aeronaut has been distributed from Modellbau Lindinger due to high quality products and services. The name "Aeronaut", based from the Greek Symbol for air and water, was chosen for the company in the 1970's as they stepped into the RC industry. Aeronaut is well known for self-designed and manufactured products, for example, the CAMCarbon Folding Propeller.
