Description "AERONAUT LUSCOMBE SILVAIRE 8 KIT"
It was a revolution when the Luscombe Model 8, later called Luscombe Silvaire, entered the market for two-seater light aircraft in 1937, as the aircraft had a fuselage with a self-supporting metal skin and was thus far ahead of its time. The construction was perfected in 1946 by a new wing with a self-supporting metal outer skin. A further special feature was that the Boxer engine was completely disguised. Other manufacturers later followed these technical innovations specified by Luscombe Aircraft Corporation.
The construction of our model was strongly inspired by the original. Especially the self-supporting outer skin made of very light but stable balsa wood, which receives sensible reinforcements where forces are applied, gives the fuselage, tail unit and wing halves a high surface quality and of course stability. The wing halves are mounted in the fuselage by means of lightweight and high-strength carbon fibre rods, making the model easy to transport despite its impressive dimensions.
The construction of the model is made easy by precisely laser-cut components. The components are interlocked in such a way that construction errors can be practically ruled out. With the help of the construction manual in the familiar aero-naut style with 3D construction stage drawings, the construction success will be achieved quite quickly, especially in joint construction projects in youth groups.
Our designer also paid special attention to good and safe flight characteristics due to a specially modified profile for our Luscombe Silvaire. Since the original was also used as a training aircraft, our model is also very well suited for school operations and youth work. The model is ideally suited as a trainer, but due to its semi-scale construction it clearly stands out from classic trainer models.
Of course, experts will also enjoy the moment when they let their individual aero-naut Luscombe Silvaire float above the square in a few meters.
Since there are about 2,800 originals worldwide and many of them in great colour designs, our Luscombe Silvaire is also very well suited as the first semi-scale model. The creation of a clean and above all individual finish using iron-on film will also succeed very well for beginners, thanks to the load-bearing outer skin of all modules. All assemblies are iron-on before the final assembly and since there are no complicated shapes and open rib fields, the beginner can easily create his own special model. Multi-colored designs are very easy to create. Experts can certainly consider a GfK finish.
The designer has provided a motor with approx. 350 watts as drive, which provides enormous starting power and very efficient and economical half throttle performance on 4S LiPo with 3,000 mAh and an aero-naut Power Prop 12×7 or 11×8. The stable and true to shape construction also allows aerobatics and thanks to the good control effect over all axes the model is precise to fly.
The very low minimum speed can be further reduced if the ailerons are configured as flaperons on the transmitter side, i.e. the ailerons can also be lowered as landing flaps.

Over the past 30 years, the company Aeronaut has been distributed from Modellbau Lindinger due to high quality products and services. The name "Aeronaut", based from the Greek Symbol for air and water, was chosen for the company in the 1970's as they stepped into the RC industry. Aeronaut is well known for self-designed and manufactured products, for example, the CAMCarbon Folding Propeller.
