Powerfly is a further development of the Panafly 400 G. The reason for the introduction of this model lies primarily in the outstanding flight performance of its predecessor. The use of new engines, gears and propellers, a voluminous, light GRP fuselage, which also allows the installation of 500 and 600 engines and the battery change through the removable canopy, expand the range of applications of the newcomer considerably. The fuselage was lengthened by 15mm, the wing was taken over without changes. It is now ready to be built, delivered in 4 parts, as are the elevator and rudder. The construction effort has therefore been significantly reduced. Aerodynamics with almost no compromises - eg the profiling of the wing. It has the Selig-Donovan SD 3021 profile. The base profile has been slimmed from a thickness of 9.5% to 8% (wing tip). This reduced the critical RE number in this area and, in conjunction with the wingtips, the induced drag. It is obvious that such a finely profiled surface has to be planked in the nose area - with an aspect ratio of 12 also for strength reasons. In terms of flying, the Powerfly is a treat. Completely inherently stable? sucks? he weakest thermals, a show near the ground. ?On the route? it picks up speed quite high without a noticeably increased sink rate. Wind speeds of 6-7 m/sec do not bother him. To ensure that the model comes back safely from great heights, the installation of airbrakes is highly recommended. These have been extensively tested and are drawn in detail in the building plan and described in detail in the building instructions. They are controlled via two 9 gram servos and "V" cables. The model is controlled via rudder and elevator, while the motor is controlled via a small rev counter with BEC (at least 1A!). The two-part wing is joined with a steel pin Ø 4 mm, the assembly on the fuselage is done with two dowels and two plastic screws. The canopy, which can be removed quickly, ensures free access to the motor, controller and battery replacement. The jury for the "International Best RC Glider of the Year Award" was also impressed by Powerfly, which awarded Powerfly the coveted award for Model of the Year in 2000. Over the past 30 years, the company
Aeronaut has been distributed from Modellbau Lindinger due to high quality products and services. The name "Aeronaut", based from the Greek Symbol for air and water, was chosen for the company in the 1970's as they stepped into the RC industry. Aeronaut is well known for self-designed and manufactured products, for example, the
CAMCarbon Folding Propeller.
