The Piper PA-18 Super Cub is a two-seater single-engine monoplane developed on the basis of the Piper PA-11. In almost 40 years of production more than 9,000 units have been built. Super Cubs are often used for bush flying, banner pulling and towing.
The model
Like its role model, the PA-18 Super Cub from FMS has excellent short takeoff and STOL (short takeoff and landing) characteristics. The model can be taken into the air after less than 3 meters! Thanks to the functioning landing flaps and the wing profile the Super Cub can be flown very slowly and true to the prototype. The oversized balloon tires and the sprung metal landing gear make takeoff and landing possible even on high grass runways and uneven terrain. A float set is also optionally available.
Ready to fly in a few minutes
Thanks to the bolted construction, the PA-18 Super Cub is ready to fly in no time at all. The drive and six 17g servos are completely installed and all linkages are pre-installed. The model is also equipped with navigation and landing lights.
Powerful drive
The Super Cub is powered by 4S LiPo on a powerful 35 brushless external rotor with 750KV. The drive is controlled by a Predator 45A flight controller. With the recommended 4S 2200 to 2600mAh battery, flight times of about 4 to 5 minutes are possible.
Integrated lighting
The PA-18 Super Cub from FMS is ready equipped with navigation and landing lights. Especially at dusk the model looks like the original and becomes an absolute eye-catcher.
Off on the water
To turn the PA-18 Super Cub into a real bushplane, the model can also be equipped with the true-to-the-original and perfectly fitting float set included in the scope of delivery. Using the oars, the model can be steered on the water and moved into the correct starting position.

Reflex Stabilization System (included in this set)
This set comes with a reflex system specially programmed for this aircraft. This electronic stabilization system is designed to assist the pilot with control commands but not to interfere with them. The Reflex system works with both PPM and SBUS inputs and works natively with all common remote control systems. If the Reflex system is assigned to a 3-channel switch, 3 different modes can be selected:
- Stabilized mode: When the control stick is released, the model is automatically brought into a neutral flight position, which offers a lot of safety in tricky situations, especially for beginners and untrained pilots.
- Optimized Mode: The gyro system of the Reflex System counteracts external influences such as gusts of wind or crosswind and keeps the model precisely in a stable position.
- Off: The Reflex System can be completely switched off.
The Reflex System is specially adjusted for this model aircraft. No further programming is required, only the installation and connection in the model is still to be carried out. The Reflex System can be connected to all receivers with at least 4 channels.
