The RX-3 is an outboard hydroplane powered by a 6-cylinder, 60 hp Mercury Mark 75, with which Hugh Entrop set a speed record of approximately 200 km/h in the International CLASS X in 1958. Our model is a semi-scale replica, with the hull and cover made from epoxy fiberglass. The deck sheathing is precision laser-cut mahogany veneer. The fittings for servo mounting, etc., are also laser-cut. A photo-etched parts set enhances the model further. With a 3S LiPo battery, the model achieves speeds of up to 55 km/h.
To operate the model, the following additional components are needed:
Over the past 30 years, the company Aeronaut has been distributed from Modellbau Lindinger due to high quality products and services. The name "Aeronaut", based from the Greek Symbol for air and water, was chosen for the company in the 1970's as they stepped into the RC industry. Aeronaut is well known for self-designed and manufactured products, for example, the CAMCarbon Folding Propeller.
To operate the model, the following additional components are needed:
- Outboard motor (e.g., 7005/05 retro outboard motor)
- 60A speed controller
- 3S LiPo battery 4,000-5,000 mAh
- Standard size servo
- Remote control with receiver
