The original model
Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of the Porsche Car Company, was a brilliant designer whose design ideas have influenced many to this day. While Ferdinand Porsche was designing new cars, Adolf Hitler was waging war in Europe and plunging the world into chaos. The fates of these two Austrians were intertwined in the 1930s when Hitler made two promises to the German people after his election as leader of the Third Reich: firstly, a steak for dinner, and secondly, a car for every German family. The car had to meet very specific requirements: it had to be able to carry two adults and three children at the same time and reach a speed of up to 100 km/h, while costing no more than 1000 Reichsmarks. This was to be the new Volkswagen.
In fact, none of these cars were sold to the people during the entire war. They were all confiscated by the army and converted into military vehicles. The civilian post-war version was then the Beetle, which later became world famous.
The model
The remote controlled Beetle "the Peoples Car" is a very detailed replica of this classic. The model has numerous scale details both outside and inside. The functioning doors, front and tailgate as well as the replica of the four-cylinder engine with cooling fan and belt drive round off the prototypical look.
The model has a 2-speed gearbox, which can be switched via the remote control, as well as the switch between all-wheel and rear-wheel drive. All the electronics such as the brushed motor, 3 digital servos, the controller/receiver unit and the functional lighting are ready built into the model. The RocHobby Beetle "The Peoples Car" therefore comes ready to drive straight out of the box.
