The Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA Club Racer is showcased on the new and versatile MB-01 chassis platform. This time, the MB-01 is configured for the medium wheelbase with the specification "Midship Rear Motor/Rear Wheel Drive" (MR). The Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA was developed as a lightweight, tuned racing version of the two-door coupe Giulia Sprint GT and was launched in 1965. A total of 500 units were produced, and in the late 1960s, the factory car won several class championships in the European Touring Car Championship; it was also campaigned by other racing teams and garnered significant attention on the racetrack!
The MB-01 Chassis
The compact 2WD MB-01 chassis offers a choice between three wheelbase types and front or rear-wheel drive. This model features a midship motor and rear-wheel drive. Without removing the battery, motor, and R/C equipment from the central frame, simply change the mounting direction of the pinion gears and steering linkages to switch between front and rear-wheel drive; for vehicles with rear-wheel drive, a low or high motor position can be selected. The four-wheel double wishbone suspension has a symmetrical structure and friction dampers. Standardized sections such as the motor mount, final gear, and suspension facilitate assembly and effective maintenance.
The firm Tamiya is specialized in high quality RC-vehicles (cars, trucks and buggies) and one of the leading manufacturer in this genre. This japanese company is based in Shizuoka and produces detailed reproductions of coveted vehicles since 1976. "Tamiya Fighter-Cup" is the name of the annual racing series.Since 1990 the final of Germany takes place in Sonneberg.
