The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is an American four-engine long-range bomber developed by the Boeing Airplane Company in the USA. It is one of the most famous bombers used by the Allies in World War II. Up to several hundred such machines took part in many actions at the same time and created powerful so-called bomb carpets over these operational areas. She was heavily armed with onboard weapons, which gave her the nickname "flying fortress".
The Flying Fortress is the largest building block model of an aircraft released by COBI to date. It has movable elements such as wheels, wing elements, on-board weapons and propellers. Below the deck there is an opening gap from which the bent-joined, to fixed bombs fall. The aircraft is provided with high-quality prints that are not worn out even by intensive use. Detailed and high-quality prints reflect the livery of the aircraft, which has been completely omitted in this set. On the aircraft pulpit there is a special print of the mascot "Cute from Memphis".
Included in the aircraft is a special pilot figure with detailed uniform.The uniform cap has a printed emblem and a brown shield. Pictured on the uniform is a print with an emblem, the distinctive head of the pilot was used for the first time in this set. The Pilot is the perfect addition to this set of the B17 Flying Fortress "Cute from Memphis" and is a great treat for collectors of such models.
