The TORPEDO BOAT pt-109 patrol entered service in 1942 in the Pacific. On August 2, 1943, the Japanese destroyer Amagiri rammed the PT-109, causing the patrol boat to sink. The patrol boat was manned by a crew of 12-17 people. The last mission was attended by 13 crew members headed by Captain Kennedy. The PT-109 was powered by three 1500hp (1100kW) Packard 12-cylinder gasoline engines. The speed of the boat was approximately 41 knots (76 km / h).
