General information about the system Epoxy Resin L with different hardeners
Epoxy resin L with the corresponding hardeners is the most widely used laminating and bonding resin in the R&G product range.
With hardeners S (15 minutes), L (40 minutes), CL (60 minutes), EPH 500 (60 minutes), EPH 161 (90 minutes), W 300 (300 minutes), GL 1 (30 minutes) and GL 2 (210 minutes), it has mechanical properties similar to those of the laminating systems commonly used in aviation. The heat distortion temperature ranges from 60 °C (S, L, EPH 500, W 300), over 80 °C (GL 1 and GL 2, after heat curing), 95 °C (CL, after heat curing) to 120 °C (EPH 161, after heat curing).
Epoxy Resin L is low viscosity, solvent and filler free and ideal for impregnating glass, aramid and carbon fibers. Its low surface tension, good adhesion and low curing shrinkage make it ideal for bonding wood, metal, Styrofoam®, etc. It can be processed by all common methods such as hand lay-up, pressure and vacuum impregnation as well as pressing and winding.
